As the Technical Arts Director, I am responsible for ensuring worship services, SS/Bible Classes and all special events at St. John have the audio/visual requirements needed to support the event. I also train and coordinate our volunteers on the A/V team who run sound, slides, cameras, and lighting for all our services.
I have always been interested in the technical side of productions, starting over 40 years ago as a volunteer at the local community theater, where I learned all aspects of productions. I soon began running sound at my church in Midland, TX and supporting the puppet ministry with both sound and lighting. I have been involved at St. John as a volunteer since I moved here in 1994.
In 2017 I was able to retire from the oil industry after 36 years. Retirement didn’t last too long as St. John offered me a part time job as Technical Arts Director. This has been a great opportunity for me to continue serving God and grow my knowledge in the Technical Arts. I look forward to seeing how God uses St. John to grow His kingdom.
My wife Linda and I have three grown children Tiffany, Stephen, and Elizabeth and four grandchildren Rory, Leo, Elliott, and Casper. They are such a joy to have around and keep us young. When not playing with grandkids I enjoy golf, photography, and travel.
