Summer Sunday School

ALL STUDENTS GOING INTO 5th-8th Grade are invited to join in a group Summer Sunday School class with a Disney movie clip & Bible discussion, snacks, games and fellowship!!

Stories and myths, Tolkien believed, are a “reflection of the image of the Creator in us.” That’s because we are made in God’s image, and – in Tolkien’s view – “part of the imageness of God in us is the gift of creativity.”

In layman’s terms, this means that modern stories – even stories written by non-Christians – contain lessons, messages and themes that reflect the truth from Scripture. Put another way: All truth is God’s truth.

This applies to movies, too!

Here are 7 popular Disney films that contain powerful biblical lessons that we will dig into:

June 12 “Pete’s Dragon” – Lessons on Faith

June 19 “Beauty & the Beast” – God Looks at the Heart

June 26 “Freaky Friday” – Love more, Forgive more!

July is a “Time of Abiding” for Sunday School – there will be no class

August 7 “Glory Road” – Made in God’s Image

August 14 “Wreck It Ralph” – Identity

August 21 “Frozen” – Choices

August 28 “Guardians of the Galaxy” – Sacrifice
