Kenya Mission Trip

St. John is joining Trinity Klein Lutheran Church on a Vision for Kenya Mission in 2025. The trip is currently scheduled for May 29 – June 8, 2025.

In Kenya, there are less than 60 ophthalmologists for 40 million people. Few people who come to the vision clinics have ever had their eyes checked. We will offer a service that they are not able to provide for themselves.

Vision for Kenya uses short-term mission trips with a long-term commitment. Working in partnership with the Kenyan Ministry of Health and the Lutheran Hour Ministries in Kenya (Nuru), they return annually to communities and commit to do so for three to five years. The goal is to help build up the local congregations. Using vision clinics to draw large crowds, both evangelism (the great commission) and mercy (the great commandment) are accomplished. Every person who comes to the clinic hears the Gospel in their own language by a local pastor or evangelist and receives what can be life changing eye care.

There will also be an opportunity for the participants to enjoy a 5+ hour safari in Nairobi, Kenya.

If you have ever thought about joining your church in an overseas mission, please stop by the Vision for Kenya Mission table set up in the SHARE NOOK of the commons on Sunday, November 17 and 24, or call/text Casey Tabor at 832-579-7573. There are twelve available spots for the May 2025 trip.
