Sharing Blessings

The St. John Lutheran Church Community Garden
broke ground in August 2021 with a goal of using our
church’s resources, talents, time and interests to
share our many blessings with our neighbors and the
community.

Today, thanks to overwhelming and continuing
support from companies, church members, schools
and scouting groups, neighbors, and many others, our
community garden has already produced more than
5,000 pounds of fresh vegetables, distributed to
individuals and families in need through our long-time
partner Cypress Assistance Ministries.

Living Life Together

We want our garden to be a living example of how we live
and share life together — and what we can accomplish
when we do!  From the healthy plant starts provided to us
by our friends at Reach Unlimited Greenhouse to the
high-performance, organic compost donated by Triple-S
Compost and every hour of sweat equity in between,
we’re proud to be a healthy, sustainable source of more
than two tons of fresh food and vegetables each year.  Our
garden harvest benefits the Cypress Assistance Ministries
Food Pantry.

Get Involved

Are you looking for ways to spend time outdoors, get
more active or nurture your green thumb?  We need
people of all ages and abilities to help us pick, prune,
weed, weigh and deliver our harvest.  The only
requirement is a willingness to serve and have fun!
Groups are welcome, too.  Does your company, school or
civic organization need a great cause to support?  Do
your students need volunteer hours, or are you looking
for a place to schedule a service day or team-building
event?  We make it easy and appreciate the support of
local groups!

Donate

We’re beyond grateful for the generous gifts that help our
garden grow and ensure our ability to continue this important
ministry.  From needed materials like green-recycled, organic
compost and soil, fencing and irrigation, cement blocks,
sheet-metal roofing and siding, and pressure-treated wood to
monetary gifts large and small, our garden’s incredible
success would not be possible without the generosity of
many.
