Our Beliefs

This is how we view God, Jesus, the Bible, man, and many significant aspects of our faith. Firmly rooted in Scripture, the beliefs of St John Lutheran guide our decisions as a church.

The Father

Creator of all that exists, loves and seeks to bless His people.  We desire to live under Him in His kingdom.

Jesus Christ, the Son

Who became human to suffer and die for the sins of all human beings and to rise to life again in the ultimate victory over death and Satan.

The Holy Spirit

Who creates faith and guides us into all Truth Through God’s Word and Sacraments.

The Trinity

The three persons of the Trinity are coequal and coeternal, one God in relationship with each other for all eternity.

The Bible

The Bible is God’s inerrant Word.  It was written by human authors under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

The Gospel

Jesus is the only source of true healing available to humans.  God desires only that all people would come to faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior and be healed through His mercy.

Communion

Every person has made mistakes that have hurt God and others.  No one is perfect.  But it goes deeper than that, to our very core, each of us is broken and in need of healing.

Membership

Take your next step and discover how you can go deeper.

You don’t ever have to become a member in order to worship at St. John or be a part of our family.  We do, however, encourage people to get connected, and one of the best ways to do that is to become a member. You’ll go deeper in your knowledge of what Lutherans believe, you’ll get connected to other people at St. John, and you’ll also be eligible to vote at our annual Voter’s Meeting.  People transferring from another LCMS church are not required to take the Get Connected class, but are strongly encouraged to join any Bible Study at St. John and attend for the same 7 weeks as the Get Connected Class.  We understand that as a Transfer Member, especially a lifelong Lutheran, the Get Connected class may be a repeat - so go ahead and get connected with any other class or study of your choice!
