Light of the World

Light of the World

Created for Us

This Advent and Christmas, we’re gathering around one simple truth: Jesus is the Light of the World. Many of us are carrying worries, grief, or just the heaviness of a busy, broken world. Into that darkness, God doesn’t send advice. He sends His Son, a light that no darkness in us or around us can overcome. As we hear the promises of Scripture, sing the carols, praise His Name, and gather around the manger and the cross, we’ll be reminded that this redeeming light is given for us: to forgive, heal, and restore us. This light is also given through us, as He sends us out to carry His true riches of light into our homes, workplaces, and neighborhoods.

Prophesied for Us
The dark can be scary even if you're not a little kid. It's hard to see, you're vulnerable, you might get lost or just hit your toe really hard. We live in a world where light is just a flick of a switch away, but when it's not, life is much harder. We will look at a text from Isaiah 9 and think about Jesus as The Light of the World ... Prophesied For Us. Light is crucial for so many things, but when spiritual darkness creeps in, hope can be hard to come by if you don't seek the light of Jesus. Let's bask in His light together as we continue in this Advent season. Peace and Joy!
